I was a ghost and it was dark and scary and Toby was a Zombie and Jade was a light to frighten people and be creepy and so afraid we called for help it was so dark and we were hearing voices.

Wacky and Funny! - (Drama) Week 5
Today in drama we practised vocal warms-ups with James Andrews. I then acted as Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock at a night club drinking cocktails, Renato played the piano - it funny and wacky!

The Killer Tomatoe - (Drama) Week 4
Today we caught the train into the city, we headed to Hosier lane to take photos of the street art at the river. Toby and I took photos of each other standing in front of the art work. We had lots of fun and we were looking cool. We love the shops and the city and we had fun. We talked about the art work over lunch.

Quick Update - (Drama) Week 3
In drama today we worked on a performance in the main building of the Abbotsford Convent . James is funny, he is teaching us how to act. After Drama we had lunch together at 'Lentil as Anything' and I had a cup of tea. Then I walked back to Arts Education started working on the Blog.

Imax / Museum - (Drama) Week 2
On friday was 44 degrees it was hot too hot in the Rosina theatre so we hit the road. First stop was the IMAX cinema we saw the Grand Canyon Adventure, and we liked the film. We have lunch in the air conditioned building. After saying goodbye to half the group we went to the museum and took the photos you see here.

It Begins - (Drama) Week 1
Today at Inerart we had a new student Greer. Greer had her first Drama class with James the Drama teacher at the Rosina theatre. Greer had lots of fun with the Interart & the Bright Futures group. Toby described the the class as ' interesting & energetic'. In the class the students discussed their favourite actors & T.V shows. They also did some brainstorming to come up ideas for their up and coming performance. The group all went to 'Lentil As Anything' at luch time.
After lunch Toby took Greer on a guided tour of the Convent grounds. They stoped in at the Convent Bakery for for a cool drink and to see the 'Convent on Canvas' exhibition. Greer said the bakery was good & had lots of yummy stuff as she had enjoyed lunch there before. Toby then led the way to the Convent gardens , Greer liked the flowers!

"The Secret of the Bats"
On Halloween night, the combined Bright Futures and Interart program groups hosted the screening of their spooky short film, “The Secret of the Bats”. The screening was held at Interact Arts Education’s studio at the Abbotsford Convent, which was appropriately decked for Halloween with black cats, spider webs, bats and more.
The night was a huge success, with more than thirty participants and their families, friends and staff members attending the screening. The film was very well-received, with laughs in all the right places and thunderous applause at the end from the audience. Two of the budding film-makers, Toby and Michelle, addressed the audience after the screening and spoke about how much they enjoyed making the film and working with the film’s cameraman and editor, Michael Buckley. Michael also spoke after the screening and was lavish in his praise of the energy, enthusiasm, and natural acting ability of the participants.
It was fantastic to see the hard work of our young participants culminate in such a successful event, and to have their families and friends be able to share the experience with them. The achievement was particularly important given that this is the first year that Interact Learning Services and Interact Arts Education have offered a program specifically catering for the interests and needs of young people. Given the success of the programs so far, and the continued interest in these programs, we can say for sure that you will be reading lots more about the achievements of our young people in the future.
